We are excited to announce our one-day workshop for violists. All the young violists (K-12) are invited to celebrate the viola and its music at the Centenary College of Louisiana! Register today!

- 9:00 am – 12:00 pm – Masterclasses
A few students will be offered a specific time for their masterclasses, and they will perform a well-polished piece and receive feedback from the teachers. All violists registered are encouraged to watch all the masterclasses.
- 12:00 pm – 1:15 pm – Lunch Break
Students are responsible for their own lunch.
- 1:15 pm – 2:00 pm – Viola Group Class – Intermediate
- 1:45 pm – 2:30 pm – Viola Group Class – Advanced
Group technique and rehearsing for the Play-Down.
- 2:45 pm – Viola-LA Play Down
An informal concert, open to the public. Violists of all ages and levels are encouraged to play together in a large ensemble. This performance is casual and light-hearted.

The pieces are ordered by level, please prepare as many pieces as you can, and we will have fun playing them together.
For “non-Suzuki” students, you are welcome to use a music stand, memorization is not required.

We welcome Dr. Kimberly Sparr, the viola professor at LSU-Baton Rouge!
Dr. Kimberly Sparr
Equally skilled as a soloist, chamber and orchestral violist, Kimberly Sparr has garnered praise for her versatility and virtuosity across the United States and beyond. She is a founding member of Atlantic Chamber Ensemble and is the assistant principal viola of the Colorado Music Festival Orchestra.
An enthusiastic educator, Dr. Sparr has been on the faculties of Texas Tech University, The College of William & Mary, and University of Maryland, Baltimore County (UMBC). She received her degrees from Rice University, New England Conservatory, and the University of Maryland. Her teachers include James Dunham, Daniel Foster, Heidi Castleman, Victoria Chiang, and Martha Strongin Katz.
